Description
View looking north, showing terraced buildings with ground-floor shops at 26-27 New Row, Covent Garden. Number 26 is trading as, "Scotts Soup & Sandwich Bar". There is a geometric stained-glass design above the plate-glass shop window. A glazed shop door and a door to the upstairs floor can be seen. A cash register, a chiller cabinet, a wicker basket and a wire shelving unit with packaged bread can be seen through the window. There is a sign saying, "Fresh Every Day The Sunblest Way" and another advertising, "Up To 4p Off". There are three luncheon voucher stickers in the window. "Scotts" moved to number 10 New Row, where it traded until 2017. A metal dustbin with no lid is in view. There is a partial view of number 27, which has a hanging sign saying, "Davisons Wine & Spirit Merchants". There is a semi-circular brick-arched mezzanine window above the ground-floor shop. A bearded-head figure can be seen and the year 1894 visible above. The shop has a central recessed door with display windows, showing bottles of wine. Today, the shop is an ice-cream parlour.
