Description
View looking north, showing a partial view of a pair of late seventeenth or early eighteenth-century former town houses with ground-floor shops at 24-25 New Row, Covent Garden. Number 25 has central glazed doors with plate-glass display windows and stained-glass geometric designs within the fanlights above. There is a sign above the windows for, "Frances", and signs in the window for, "Temps Joy at Fitzroy" and "Permanent Joy". There are papers and boxes visible through the shop windows. The building is Grade II listed; listing number 1366022. Number 24 has a sign for "Leathergoods Ltd" above plate-glass display windows. A photocopying machine can be seen inside the shop. There are signs on the plate-glass doors advertising "Xerox copies at 4p each" and "Personal Letter Headings". There is a stained-glass, geometric patterned fanlight above the shop windows. A panelled door can be seen. The building is Grade II listed; listing number 1224988. The reflections of the photographer and his assistant can be seen. Today, both shops are cafes.
