Description
View of a ground-floor front room at 38 South Street, Mayfair. On the right is a large Gothic Revival cupboard. The room has several pilasters with scroll finials and a wave and bead cornice moulding with a scroll frieze below it. Paintings and tapestries hang from the walls and on the far wall is a fireplace and decorative overmantle panel. On the left on a small table is a religious statue. 38 South Street, also known as Aberconway House, was built 1920-22 for the industrialist, Henry McLaren, later Baron Aberconway, and is Grade II listed, entry 1236368.
