Description
View of the front elevations of buildings at 114-116 Mount Street, Mayfair. Numbers 115 and 116 at the left are a semi-detached block of flats. The building has a shop, John Baily & Son (Poulters) Ltd on the ground floor at number 116, while 115 is the entrance to accommodation above. A tall gable tops the ornate, buff-coloured facade of the building, which has four storeys plus an attic. It is three-windows wide. Number 114 to the right is the front elevation of a building listed as the Vestry and Presbytery, which now houses the London Jesuit Centre. It has two tall storeys plus basement and gabled attic and is six windows wide. It stands next to the Roman Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception, also known as Farm Street Church, the main central London church of the Jesuit order, which is separately Grade II* listed. Dating from 1886-88 and designed by A. E. Purdie, The Vestry and Presbytery at 114 Mount Street was Grade II listed in 1987; listing number 1267199. Dating from 1886 and designed by James Trant Smith, numbers 115 and 116 Mount Street were Grade II listed in 1987; listing number 1223668. Parked in front of the shop are a Renault 16 car and a Vanden Plas Princess 1300 car with a flat right front tyre.
