Description
View of the front elevations of a block of houses and flats at 117-121 Mount Street, Mayfair. The buildings is in red brick with lavish terracotta dressings. It is described as an ornate and eclectic exercise in Queen Anne and Flemish styles. The building has four storeys with dormered and gabled attics. Shops occupy the ground floor. At the corner of an access lane to the right is a shop named Allen, with two bicycles of a kind used by grocers for deliveries leaning on the facade. Many vehicles are seen in traffic, most of them Austin FX4 London taxis as well as a Rover 2000 car. Dating from 1886-87 and designed by James Trant Smith, the block at numbers 117, 118 and 119, 119A 120, 120A, 120B, 121 and 121A Mount Street was Grade II listed in 1969; listing number 1224321.
