Description
View of the rear elevation of a substantial commercial building at 27 Motcomb Street, Belgravia, the front elevation being on the south side of the building in West Halkin Street. The elevation shown is covered in white stucco and has three storeys that include two tall arched windows either side of the entrance. A sign by the door reads The Other Bistro. It was formerly used by Trollope & Sons, a maker of furniture, but has since become a supermarket. The building dates from 1830 and includes numbers 2-12 Halkin Arcade as well as 27 and 28 Motcomb Street and 11a West Halkin Street. It was Grade II listed in 1987; listing number 1279385. On the pavement is one of two K6 telephone kiosks outside the building, designed by Giles Gilbert Scott that date from 1935. It was Grade II listed in 1987; listing number 1267231. An Austin A50 van is parked on the pavement near to a step ladder.
