Description
View of buildings at 32 Tavistock Street and 26 Wellington Street in Covent Garden. The four-storey buildings were erected in the early-eighteenth century and initially used solely for residential accommodation. Alterations were made in the early-nineteenth century to create ground-floor shops. Number 32 Tavistock Street has frosted windows on the ground floor and is Grade II listed, listing number 1234457. Number 26 Wellington Street is trading as J. J. Blackburn, bulb merchants. There are goods displayed in the windows. A wheel of a cart can be seen together with a no-waiting cone in the road. The six-storey building in the background is the offices of Fyffes Monro Flowers Ltd, 22, Wellington Street. There is a Morris Minor van and Peugeot 504 car in view. The buildings remain today but with different traders.
