Description
Front elevation of Globe House, 4 Temple Place, Temple, taken from Victoria Embankment. An eight-storey office building built in 1933 as Electra House, former headquarters of Cable and Wireless Ltd. It was partially destroyed by a V1 flying bomb in 1944. The building has a large arch-shaped entrance with statues visible on either side. It was totally rebuilt in 1999 as the headquarters of British American Tobacco. Number 13-15, Arundel Street can be seen to the left of the image. There are benches and trees in the gardens in front of the buildings. A street lamp and metal bins can be seen.
