Description
Front elevation of 40-42 Sutherland Street, Pimlico. Sutherland Street runs south east from Ebury Bridge to Lupus Road and is one of the grid system roads laid out in the mid 1820s by master builder Thomas Cubitt on what had been market gardens. Part of a four-storey stucco terrace with mansard roofs, dormer windows and basements enclosed by cast-iron railings. Projecting Doric porches with balustraded balconies above. On number 40 an estate agent's sign, 'George Trollope, Newly Modernised Flats For Sale', and on number 42, 'Newly Converted Flats for Sale, Ridley'. Three cars are parked outside, one a Ford Zephyr.
