Description
Front elevations of 6-8 Stratton Street, Westminster. Number 6 is a Grade II listed building, listing number 1264239. Built in late-eighteenth century, it has four floors and a basement. The semicircular arched front door is set with one window to the right and two windows to the left, with a glazed fanlight above. There is a sign fixed to the wall on the right of the door indicating that building was offices of an insurance company. There is a cast-iron fence to the front. Number 7 is a narrow four-storey building with attic rooms. There is a display window to the left of the door with what appear to be posters on display. There is a cast-iron fence to the front of this building. Number 8 is a Grade II listed building, listing number 1237151. A five-storey with basement terraced house built in 1871-72 by Ernest George and Vaughan. There is a flight of steps to the front door to the right of the building with metal railings to the front. There is the name Mayfair carved into the front, possibly being used as a hotel. These buildings still exist and are now occupied as offices. The ground-floor front of number 8 has been updated with the carved name being removed.
