Description
A view of the front elevation of a pair of terraced houses at 8-9 Hertford Street, Mayfair. The buildings are covered in scaffolding in this picture for what appears to be extensive works. The name of the construction company Ford & Walton Ltd appears on a sign on the scaffolding. Another says the developer is Amalgamated Securities Ltd of Albemarle Street. Piles of new bricks can be seen on the street side of a hoarding. By a gap, a man can be seen shifting bricks. At the left, Carrington House is built over the access road into its courtyard. A truck of the company Norris Warming Ltd is parked in the road. Near the camera is a Volkswagen Beetle saloon car. Dating from about 1770 and now forming one property, 8 and 9 Hertford Street were Grade II listed in 1987; listing number 1357094.
