Description
View of first-floor rear drawing room at 66 Grosvenor Street, Mayfair. It shows a white-painted doorcase carved on all its edges. All the walls are wood-panelled and are being redecorated; their upper and lower panels are aligned with the door panelling. The view reveals low-relief carvings above the doors, set in a panel and painted to contrast with the white background. Its subject is a group of playful putti. The five on the right are gathered around a wooden barrel, and two on the left have caught a fish with their fishing rod on the banks of a stream. 66, built in 1723 as a townhouse is now in business occupation and is Grade II listed, listing number 1357084.
