Description
View of ground-floor rear room in 69 Grosvenor Street, Mayfair. This is a large room set up as a board room with modern furnishings and a long desk and chairs on a central carpet. To the left is a classicised chimneypiece with a dark marble cornice, pilasters and broken pediment surrounding a mirror. On the far wall is a portrait of a man, and a doorcase with white-painted double doors. The walls are wood-panelled and a dado rail separates wallpapered panels above from wood panels below. Amongst the occupants of 69 from 1828-46 was Henry Gally Knight, politician and writer on architecture.
