Title
Interior of a house in Grosvenor Square
Description
First-floor dance hall and billiard room in 27 Grosvenor Square, Westminster. A patterned rug is on the wooden-floorboards and there is a fireplace with a highly decorative tiled surround. The walls are wood panelled and the roof is curved with square panels containing circular designs. The top arch of the ceiling has square panels with Islamic style patterns and a mezzanine level at the end of the room has Islamic styled wooden designs. The buildings have been demolished and the former United States of America Embassy was built in its place, which then moved to Nine Elms in 2017.
