Buildings in Charing Cross Road
A view of the front elevation of a commercial building at 45-49 Charing Cross Road, West End, including the entrance to Leicester Square Underground (Tube) station. As well as the Tube entrance, the ground floor houses Tennessee Pancake House restaurant. An Evening News newspaper billboard reads: "Tube Bomb Charges Today", possibly a reference to an attack on West Ham Tube Station on 15 March 1976 by the Irish Republican Army guerrilla group or one the next day when a bomb exploded on a train at Wood Green station. Several pedestrians can be seen and a van is parked next to the building in Little Newport Street. The building still exists but it no longer houses the Tube entrance.
