Houses in Carrington Street
A view of five-storey Georgian terraced houses at 1-4 Carrington Street, Mayfair as seen from Shepherd Street. Fronting the houses are iron railings and flowers are grown on windowsills. Georgian features can be seen on the door surrounds such as the triangular pediments on some houses. Two women can be seen looking out of windows. Attached to the end property at number 4 is a business sign for N. O'Neill underneath which a workman is standing. At the end of the road is a two-storey commercial building. The road surface is cobbled stones and the back of a hood covering a motor car can be seen at the end of the road on the far right of the photograph. The buildings no longer exist and a residential block of flats dating from c1920s-c1930s stands in their place.
