Buckingham Palace
Front elevation Buckingham Palace and its gates, The Mall, Westminster, showing the original east facade as designed by John Nash in 1826 and completed by Edward Blore in 1829, just before its redesign in 1913. This photograph was taken during the reign of King George V, who was responsible for the last major building work at the palace: a new, refaced principal façade of Portland stone designed by Sir Aston Webb, which is a familiar sight today. Buckingham Palace, the official royal residence and administrative headquarters and one of the most recognisable landmarks, is a Grade I listed building, listing number 1239087.
