Houses in Nightingale Lane
View of front elevations of a pair of semi-detached five-storey houses at 63 to 65 Nightingale Lane, Balham, looking south. The Italianate style Victorian period residences have substantial canted bay windows over the lower and upper ground and first floors with arched sash windows above the elevated entrance portico and at the second floor and attic rooms. The ground floor has an ashlar stucco finish with window ledges supported by decorative stucco brackets with matching modillions under the eaves. The keystones to the arched windows have face motifs with decorative panels and capitals around the windows. A Bedford CA van is visible parked in front at the roadside.
