A view of the entrance hall of the premises of couturier Norman Hartnell in a terraced house at 26 Bruton Street, Mayfair. The image shows two glazed double doors and part of a chandelier. A later blue plaque on the building says Sir Norman Hartnell (1901-79) lived and worked there from 1935 to 1979. He held royal warrants as dressmaker to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth II. Dating from the mid-eighteenth century, number 26 Bruton Street was Grade II listed in 1983; listing number 1291163.
