Description
View of semi-detached houses at 9-11 Putney Hill, Putney. Number 11 is called The Pines, and used to be the home of poets Algernon Charles Swinburne (1837-1909) and his friend Theodore Watts-Dunton (1832-1914); a blue plaque commemorates this fact. The houses, which feature a distinctive central tower, were built c1870 and are Grade II* listed, listing number 1065520. A woman is waiting at a bus stop, three boys are sitting on a bench, and two bicycles are leaning againt the wall.
