Description
This view shows the laundry works that once stood in Pentlow Street, near Putney Lower Common, together with neighbouring houses at numbers 26 and 28 on the east side of the street and to the left the northern end of the odd-numbered addresses to number 39. It was once the Mirror Laundry Co Ltd, later operated by the Brooks Service Group PLC, but was redeveloped at the start of the twenty-first century and replaced with two-storey houses designed to complement the Victorian housing along the rest of the street. Also shown in the central background, the six-storey flats of Huntingford House and, to its right, Knox House on the Ranelagh Estate in Horne Way. In the background a man is shown clipping the hedge at the front garden. Cars parked in the street include a Ford Anglia, a Rover P5 3 Litre, a Ford 107E Prefect, and a Singer Vogue.
