View of front elevation of Dewrance and Company, 165 Great Dover Street, Tabard Estate, Southwark. Established in 1835 as a manufacturer of engine and boiler accessories, in 1937 they became a wholly owned subsidiary of Babcock and Wilcox Limited. The premises on Great Dover Street were built in 1897 with notable features including the wide arched entrance and a moulded brick decoration depicting industry and commemorating the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The building was later converted to residential use.
