Description
Front elevation of a house at 171 Stoke Newington Church Street, Hackney, known as Sisters' Place. Large three-storey house with three bays, sash windows, an elaborate front gate with large urns and a cast-iron railing along the front. On the right, at number 173 Stoke Newington Church Street, a ground-floor shop extends to the pavement (this was removed in 1993). A zebra crossing and Belisha beacon can be seen in front of the house. Numbers 171-173 Stoke Newington Church Street, Hackney, were built in 1717 by Edward Newens, a local bricklayer, and Grade II listed in 1975, listing number 1235426.
