Title
Houses in Walburgh Street
Description
A view along Walburgh Street, Whitechapel, looking south towards Chapman Street. Terraced houses line the street, and more terraced houses can be seen in Chapman Street. A man in a flat cap selling newspapers stands on the pavement to the left. Several of the front door steps have been whitened with chalk stone, a common practice in the East End. Walburgh Street is now a truncated entry into Doorstep Green Park, a small recreation area surrounded by flats, and the houses no longer exist.
