Title
Former Baptist Chapel in Commercial Road
Description
Front elevation of the former Baptist Chapel at 240a Commercial Road, Stepney. The name I Wasserman appears on a plinth above the ground-floor level which has corrugated iron and shutters across its frontage. Four large Corinthian-style pillars extend the height of the first and second floors which each have a row of three windows. The pillars support a plinth topped with a carved pediment. This building has been demolished and the site became part of a much widened pavement outside the new Watney Street Market.
