Doorway in Batty Street
Description
The Batty Street entrance to number 100 Commercial Road, Stepney. A recessed doorway with a small circular window set in an arch above the panelled door. An advanced decorative surround with intermittent raised reliefs follows the arch of the doorway with a figurehead keystone. There is a small window left of the door and two blind windows to the right. The name of the business occupying the premises is painted onto the whitewashed wall, and reads Edward Feiner & Co Ltd, Builders, Decorators, Shopfitters, G.L.C Requirements, Sanitary & Electrical Engineers. This doorway no longer exists, the building having been rebuilt.
