View of Three Colt Street
Description
View of 93-103 Three Colt Street, Limehouse, looking south. Mostly weatherboarded houses with ground-floor shopfronts, leading off in the distance to Limekiln Hill. Children stand in front of a bakery with a handcart on the road. Men stand in the street at the corner of what is likely to be Ropemakers Fields and carriages can be seen travelling down the road. David Bruce's plumbing shop sits in the middle of the row and the corner of The Old King's Head public house can be seen opposite at number 80. These buildings no longer exist, having been replaced with two housing blocks, Bethlehem House and Padstow House, built in the 1950s.
