Title
Interior detail of the Crooked Billet public house on Tower Hill
Description
View of the decorative plasterwork ceiling with perfunctory light fittings, believed to be in one of the upstairs rooms of the Crooked Billet public house at 32 Tower Hill (address also given as 2 King Street, Aldgate, later renamed Eastminster). The room has a complimentary plaster fire surround with gas light fittings above and Victorian-style coving and floral wallpaper seen in a generally poor state of repair. The building has since been demolished and subsumed by the major road junction of Tower Hill, Minories and Shorter Street.
