Title
World Trade Centre on Tower Hill
Description
View from height of the World Trade Centre at the Brutalist Europe House on the corner St Katherine's Way and East Smithfield, seen with numerous flagpoles and flags flying, looking south over the ruins of buildings on Tower Hill and Eastminster. Further along are warehouses, part of the Thomas Telford designed St Katherine's Dock and Tower Bridge beyond at the top of Tower Bridge Approach, with the Tower of London just visible on the right. Advertising hoardings in the foreground include Beefeater Gin and Embassy No1 cigarettes. The ruins have now been built over with a major road junction and the World Trade Centre replaced by the Richard Rogers designed Tower Bridge House.
