Title
Houses in Philpot Street
Description
Front elevations of terraced houses at 17-27 Philpot Street, Whitechapel, looking west. It was originally a terrace of three-storey (including basement) brick-built houses; however, numbers 13-15 and 29-33 have been demolished and the remaining houses are derelict and boarded up. The buildings have steps up to the front entrance and several round cast iron anchor plates. Parked in the street are a Lanchester 11 (registration BNX 544), a polished Wolseley 18/85 series III saloon (registration HLH 810) and a Morris Minor series MM (registration EOD 496). These houses no longer exist and have been replaced with Dixon House social housing block.
