Buildings in The Highway
Description
Vacant land and remaining houses in The Highway, Ratcliff, looking west at the corner of Garnet Street. An area heavily damaged by bombing during World War II. In the centre distance, the spire of St George’s Church is surrounded by scaffolding and to the left, is The Tower of London. In the middle distance, The New Gunboat public house is at 245-247 The Highway. Lorries drive along The Highway one way and to the right is the narrow entrance to Solander Street where Chancery House can be seen.
