Description
Front elevation of 52 Artillery Lane, Spitalfields, which is in use as a factory of 'Lercon, manufacturing belt company'. Ground-floor window shutters are closed and upstairs casement windows are open. Next door at 9a Artillery Passage is 'Kern Ltd.' These buildings were built as a pair. Opposite on the corner is a newsagents with advertising signange 'Players Please' and two identical signs for 'Wills's Woodbine cigarettes'. Above the newsagent entrance is an enamel sign for 'British Oak Shag (in packets) Sold Here'. Three bollards block the passageway entrance. Number 52 has been rebuilt and 9a remains as built. There are only two bollards surviving of the three.
