Houses in Lant Place
Description
View of numbers 1-8 on the north side of Lant Place (now called Sawyer Street, possibly after the Dickensian character Bob Sawyer), looking east towards Southwark Bridge Road, Borough. The narrow street is paved and partly cobbled and there are three bollards half way down the street blocking access to traffic. Three children are playing next to railings. Horses and carts are visible on Southwark Bridge Road and the building in the distance was known as Brigade House. All of the buildings have been demolished.
