Description
Interior view at 53 Borough High Street, Southwark. A staircase and landing with solid moulded strings, turned balusters, ball-capped square newels and plain handrail. Inside an early-eighteenth century four-storey building with mansard roof and dormer windows, with a mid-nineteenth century front. The ground floor is now a food outlet. From 1778 until 1840 various firms of indigo blue manufacturers were the occupants and in the 1950s it was occupied by Louis F. Petyt, hop factor. The building is Grade II listed, number 1378352.
