Description
Close up of the doorway with ornate stone canopy above at 51 Bankside. Originally built as a terrace of three dwellings in 1712, they were damaged during the Blitz and reduced to two, becoming 50 and 52. Number 50 was renamed "Provost's Lodging" in the twentieth century with the future Bishop of Salisbury, George Reindorp, living there for a while. Numbers 50 and 52 were Grade II listed in 1950, listing number 1376549.
