Description
A view of the front elevations of shop buildings on the west side of Tottenham Court Road, Fitzrovia, and the junction with Windmill Street. North of the junction is a corner shop at number 45, followed by Bobbies and a pen shop. Further south, the site is surrounded by a hoarding bearing advertisements. On the southern corner of Percy Street is a building with a huge sign on the northern elevation declaring: "Opticians let us test your sight" with an outline of a pair of spectacles. On the eastern elevation, the sign reads: "We buy your old gold. Spot cash given". The business is Laurence & Laurence at 38 Tottenham Court Road. That building and the one after it still exist but none of the other buildings in the image still exist. Several pedestrians can be seen on the pavement and one car and two buses are visible travelling north. Pillars supporting trolleybus cables line the pavement.
