Description
A view of the front elevations of buildings on the west side of Tottenham Court Road, Fitzrovia, and the junction with Maple Street. None of the buildings still exist except the two shop building at the northern corner of Maple Street towards the right of the picture. The one on the right of these is number 109 Tottenham Court Road and houses Avian Gowns. At the corner at 1 Maple Street is the Roebuck pub with an advertisement for Graham's Lager on its facade. Both have two storeys of accommodation above the ground floor. Several pedestrians can be seen on the pavement. The street is criss-crossed by trolleybus power cables. Parked in the street is an Austin 10 saloon car and another car is also visible. On the southern corner of Maple Street is an advertisement for Reid's Stout.
