Description
A view of a first-floor front room chimneypiece at a grand terraced house at 3-4 Taviton Street, Bloomsbury. The surround has an elaborate stylised acanthus design in the corners. Two lampshades and an electrical fitting and a magazine can be seen on the mantlepiece. In the hearth are some ash and partly burned wood. An unconnected gas pipe is visible to the right. Built about 1824 by Thomas Cubitt, the terrace of 1-12 Taviton Street was Grade II listed in 1969, listing number 1378972.
