Description
A view of the front elevation of terraced shop buildings at 24-32 (even) Tottenham Street, Fitzrovia. The buildings have three storeys of accommodation over the retail premises. They are two windows wide except number 26, which is three wide and extends over the entrance to Charlotte Mews. Number 24, towards the right, has a large arched shop window. Number 26 has no shop name but a sign in the window points to the left and reads "casting". A ladder is propped against the building, reaching the bottom of the first floor. The facade of number 28 has been newly rebuilt and windows replaced. A sign over the shop reads "Footwear repairs". Number 30 is the premises of Prime Leathers Ltd and a pile of boxes has been stacked on top of rubbish bins outside. Number 32 is called Centro Turistico Giovanile with a further sign in English under the Italian reading Student Travel Italy. A Ford Escort van is parked in the street as well as a Ford Capri saloon. Dating from the later eighteenth century, numbers 24 and 26 as well as 28 and 30 Tottenham Street were Grade II listed in 1973, listing numbers 1379036, 1379035 and 1379038.
