View of Redcross Way
Description
Looking north-east along Redcross Way, Borough, from the junction with Quilp Street. A row of boarded and derelict shops line the left side of the street. These were demolished and replaced in the mid-twentieth century with Avery House, a mix of retail and social housing and part of Marshalsea Estate. On the right at 99 Redcross Way is a sign for Faulkner Greene and Co., plate and sheet glass merchants, whilst further along outside number 97 two men stand on the street. Number 99 Redcross Way still exists as Hatters Court flats, but buildings beyond that were demolished to make way for Babington House, also part of Marshalsea Estate.
