Description
A view of Park Street, Southwark, looking west to Southwark Bridge. There are commercial premises on both sides of the street. In the foreground there is a covered high sided cart being driven by a coachman and two horses. Behind the moving cart is a stationary one with a man standing at the rear. A man wearing a cloth cap walks along the left hand side pavement by a gas powered lamp. The tall four-storey building on the left immediately adjacent to Southwark Bridge is still in existence but the remainder of the area has been significantly redeveloped over the years into mixed commercial and residential properties.
