Title
Houses in Orient Street
Description
A view of the front elevation of a three-storey Victorian terrace at 9-15 Orient Street, Elephant and Castle. This cul de sac extension of Orient Street was more of a cobbled lane backing onto Hayes Street gardens. Some heavy wood planks are stacked at the back of the garden belonging to 7 Orient Street. Several lines of barbed wire run across the top of the garden wall. A Ford Zephyr 4 Mark III is parked in the lane; it has a Royal Automobile Club badge attached to the front grill. A van is parked behind the Zephyr. The two houses at the far end of this terrace still exist; the rest of the terrace has been demolished and redeveloped into extended gardens for 3, 5 and 7 Orient Street.
