Description
Ground view of 99-107 East Street and Brandon Street, Southwark, captured from Portland Street. View consists of a yard encircled with a brick wall on the Brandon Street side and a wooden fence the East Street. In the middle are the remains of the demolished Maxwell Laundry, the shop front still intact. Beyond this is the Masons Arm public house. Behind the yard, the tower blocks Harrison House and Marnock House can be seen. On the corner of Brandon Street and East Street, four children play around a lamp post as two women have a conversation. A traffic cone blocks entry into East Street. Parked close by is a Datsun. The site now hosts the Newbolt House residential block.
