Title
Paragon in New Kent Road
Description
View of the east end of Paragon, New Kent Road (south side), Walworth. It was designed by Michael Searles and built 1789-90 for the Rolls family. Large gate posts and railings enclose a garden in front of the crescent of four-storey houses, which have pillared entrances. The Paragon was demolished in 1898 for road widening, new housing and a school, all of which still exist, with the school now a residential block and the green space a public park named Paragon Gardens.
