Description
View of the Gothic former vicarage of the Anglican church of St Matthew at 52 Oakley Square, Camden Town. The church stood in the space to its right but was demolished in 1977. The vicarage is now a private home. It is built in yellow stock brick with stone, red brick and dark yellow brick bands, patterning and dressings. Works are taking place on the pavement, with a sign saying "single file traffic". Some paving slabs are piled up nearby and there is a pile of sand in the road with a shovel in it. Dating from 1861 and designed by John Johnson, the former vicarage of St Matthew, its gate and wall, were Grade II listed in 1999; listing number 1322083. At the left is number 53, a house of three storeys plus basement.
