Description
View east, taken from the rear garden of 22 Mornington Crescent, Camden, showing the rear elevations of terraced houses at 21-23 Mornington Crescent, Camden. The three-storey buildings have dormers and basements and a two-window range. They were built by I. Bryant, as part of a terrace forming a crescent in 1821-32. There is a ground-floor, single-storey, lean-to extension to number 22, where an open, panelled door and two windows can be seen. There are cast-iron balconies at first-floor level. In the rear garden of number 22 washing can be seen drying on a line. There is a mattress and fold-up bed frame, several buckets, a ceramic sink and two metal dustbins. There are brick boundary walls either side of the garden space. A grassed area is in the foreground. The houses are Grade II listed; listing number 1113138. The terrace was named after the Earl of Mornington, brother of the Duke of Wellington.
