View from Charrington Street looking north-east, showing rows of three-storey, mid nineteenth-century terraced houses at 9-19 Medburn Street, St Pancras, on the left and similarly at 29-20 Medburn Street on the right. To the extreme left is a four-storey building surrounded by corrugated-iron panels at 56 Charrington Street. It has two blind windows and is undergoing refurbishment. Two more blind windows can be seen to the Medburn Street elevation. Some windows are damaged and there is a tarpaulin covering part of a first-floor window in the Charrington Street elevation. To the extreme right of the image is a partial view of scaffolding to the rear of 54 Charrington Street. The houses in Medburn Street are also undergoing renovation and refurbishment. There are corrugated-iron panels along the front boundaries. A skip containing building rubble can be seen in the street. There is scaffolding to the front elevation of 26 Medbury Street, where a man can be seen on a ladder. 20-25 Medburn Street were built in 1841-44 and are Grade II listed; listing number 1113124. 26-29 Medburn Street were built in 1849-52 and are Grade II listed; listing number 1113125. 9-19 Medburn Street were built in 1841-1844 and are Grade II listed; listing number 1113123. 56 Charrington Street has since been renumbered 6-8 Medburn Street and is also Grade II listed; listing number 1242931. In the distance is a large block of flats at 1-72 Cecil Rhodes House, Goldington Street. The block has since been renamed Park View House. There are several vehicles parked in Medburn Street, including a Ford Cortina and an Austin A40 van. Street lamps can be seen.
