View from Charrington Street looking east showing terraced houses in two separate blocks numbered 26-29 and 20-25 Medburn Street, St Pancras. The blocks are separated by Penryn Street. The houses were all built from 1849-54 and comprise three storeys with a two-window range and continuous cast-iron balconies at first-floor level. The doorways are round-arched with panelled doors and have fanlights above. Between 29 Medburn Street and 54 Charrington Street, to the right of the image, is a single-storey building with three entrances and a single window. Number 54 Charrington Street has a ground-floor shop window visible displaying what appears to be hardware items. To the left of the image is 56 Charrington Street, which has a shop window displaying packets and drinks bottles. There are signs on the Medburn Street elevation advertising R. White's lemonade and Lyon's cakes. Numbers 20-25 Medburn Street are Grade II listed; listing number 1113124; Numbers 26-29 Medburn Street are Grade II listed; listing number 1113215. Number 56 Charrington Street has since been renumbered 6-8 Medburn Street and is also Grade II listed; listing number 1242931. It forms part of a terrace of listed buildings renumbered 42-64 Charrington Street and includes the cast-iron railings visible in the image. There is a fire hydrant plate visible. In the distance is a large block of flats at 1-72 Cecil Rhodes House, Goldington Street. The block has since been renamed Park View House. There are several vehicles parked in the street including a Ford Anglia van, an Austin A60 half-ton van and a Ford Zephyr convertible.
