Houses in Guilford Street
Description
View of Georgian terraced houses at 89-92 Guilford Street, Bloomsbury. The house doors are all marked with an X. Houses number 89 to 91 have four storeys and basements, arched doorways with pilasters, radial fanlights and panelled doors. Number 92 is a double-fronted building, also four-storey with basement and with some bricked-up windows. Situated on the corner of Guilford Street and Lansdowne Terrace, it was the residence of James Burton (1761-1837), builder and developer, who lived there between 1794 and 1796. Today the building is owned by the University of London. The whole terrace is Grade II listed together with attached railings, listing number 1271621.
