Description
View of Georgian terraced houses at 61-70 Guilford Street, Bloomsbury, built c1793-99 by James Burton. They are four-storey buildings with basements. Numbers 61 to 63 were rebuilt after sustaining damage in World War II, and so they do not feature stuccoed ground floors. The houses are Grade II listed together with attached railings, listing number 1245858. Cars are parked on both sides of the street, including a BMC 250JU van in front of number 70. A parking meter and some discarded construction material are visible on the pavement. On the left of the image is Russel Hotel, built in 1898 by Charles Fitzroy Doll. The hotel was renamed in 2018 and today is The Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel. Number 62 is now the premises of Celtic Hotel.
